The County Silver Medals are awarded for performance in the Winter Team League combined with the County Open Shoots. At present there are three medals to be won each year, one each for Prone Rifle, Air Pistol and Sport Rifle.
To be eligible you need to enter the Cumbria & Northumbria Target Shooting Association Winter Team League and the County Open Shoots, detailed below.
CNTSA Winter Team League
Lake District Open Shoot at Lowther
The Vaux Open Shoot at Alnwick
CNTSA Winter Team League
Cumberland News Rifle Club Air Guns Open Shoot in Carlisle
CNTSA Air Guns Open Shoot in Carlisle
CNTSA Winter Team League
Cumberland News Rifle Club Sport Rifle Open Shoot in Carlisle
CNTSA Sport Rifle Open Shoot at Alnwick
The winner is decided by the average of your average score for each competition, for any competition you do not enter your score is recorded as zero, therefore to be eligible to win you do need to shoot at each of the competitions listed above.
Any competitor is eligible to win only one County Silver Medal in a given discipline, so each year the medal is presented to a different person. For example, in year three, assuming that the winners from years one and two are top of the average list, the person in third place will win the medal as the first two will no longer be eligible.
A competitor may win a medal in more than one discipline.
The County Silver Medal is made from real silver, it is not silver plated. |
